Alri St. Kevin?

Tuesday 24th April, Fódla had their Religion Retreat in Glendalough. Glendalough is a place up the Wicklow Mts where St. Kevin set up his very famous monastery hundreds of years ago. It is a glacial valley and is absolutely beautiful!

We headed off at 9am with Mr. K (our Chaplain) and Mrs. L. It was a very bumpy bus journey up a mountain and lets just say I was feeling a little green when I got off the bus :S
Then we met the man and woman who would be bringing us on our walk (some would say hike) around Glendalough. The first thing we did was walk around a labyrinth that was in the grass at the front of the ecumenical center. Then we we're brought to the graveyard, St. Kevin's Church, the lake and all over Glendalough. We stopped for a much needed lunch - I bought chips OMNOM - which is when the rain started. And boy, did it rain. For the rest of the day it absolutely lashed out of the heavens (see what I did there? No? Ok...) We were all soaked to our skin.
Finally we headed home absolutely shattered and very very sodden.

Until my next post :)
